AN ANIME/MANGA FANDOM CHARACTER TOURNAMENT based on f_march_madness (format used with permission!).

This is a single elimination, competitive animanga fandom wide tournament to determine THE BEST AND THE BRIGHTEST OF ANIME AND MANGA FANDOM.

animetournament will start out with a whopping NINETY-FOUR fandoms. These will be split amongst two prelim voting posts. One character from each fandom will win their poll, and then advance to the next bracket, where they will face a character from another fandom.

Preliminaries: 96 fandoms
First Round: 96 characters
Second Round: 48 characters
Third Round: 24 characters
Semi-finals: 12 characters
Super Six: 6 characters
Final Three: 3 characters

The winner of the final three becomes the 2012 CHAMPION!

This is my first attempt at drawing Korra (last shown here). One of the fun things about AtLA fanart is that you can draw characters doing all kinds of OTT flashy moves that you’d never use in a real fight. Flying side kick + firebending = suddenly a lot more effective.

I had to sharpen this one a lot because my scanner is rather fond of eating my linework. Colours and a (simple) background will be added later. For now, I’m more interested in hearing about how to sort out her clothing folds and fix any anatomy errors that are still present. I think I find it easier to draw baggy clothes - it must be all those years of drawing Inuyasha fanart. :p

Well, it turned out that the "We Love the Women that Fandom Hates" fest was so popular that the people who organised it couldn't keep up with all the sign-ups and decided to devote an entire community to it instead. I found a link to this while I was lurking and thought it was a great idea. Fandom often has a tendency to focus on the negative where female characters are concerned, so it's always nice to see something that focuses on their positive aspects for a change.

So, it only took me four months to upload some actual artwork to my new DA account. And it's a scrap. Well done, self. ^^;

Anyhow, this is Sayo one of my (horror of horrors) original characters from an Inuyasha fanfic I've been working on for God knows how long, which will hopefully see the light of day before the end of this decade. Until I started on this story I was very reluctant to use OCs as anything other than minor/background characters in my fanfiction because there's so many pitfalls to avoid when it comes to OCs. However, in this story there was no way I could make a canon character the antagonist without making things *incredibly* contrived and I needed a cast of supporting characters who weren't just there to act as plot devices. None of them are romantically involved with any canon characters (except for a couple of one-sided crushes), so hopefully that'll get me out of Mary-Sue Hell for the time being. j/k

I'm offering one fic of at least 1,000 words for the help_haiti auctions. help_haiti was created in the morning of January 13, 2010, as a place for fandomers to help raise money to help in the rescues, recoveries and rebuilding of Haiti following the tragic earthquake on January 12, 2010.

This is how it works:
1- Members of fandom put things up for auction: fic, art, icons, crafts, various interesting miscellany, etc.
2- You bid, and the highest bidder donates that amount of money to a Haiti-relevant aid organization or charity of their choice.
